Weekend Blurb #3

This week has been awfully quick. The days went in a blink of an eyes. Nevertheless, they were great days. I finally got my computer parts on Thursday. It’s built and running. There are a few things that I’ll have to live/cope with but I think they will work for now. I can’t complain too much with the things I have going for me.

I got all my computer parts on Thursday and I built it that very night. Outcome, I was very happy with it. I bought all the parts from Newegg.

It took me a while to build the computer because it was my first time putting one together from unopened box parts. Several hours later, it came out awesome and after firing it up, it worked. Lighted up blue in the back, sides and front. Unfortunately, I don’t have any picture of it turned on. I do have how it looks on the inside though.

Friday, Chelsea came over. We spent the weekend together. It was very good.

This weekend was overall a good week. I got very tired towards the end of the weekend though (today). Chelsea played Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise. It was good to see she enjoyed the game.

One fun thing that we did this weekend: we went to an art place. We painted on  pottery. It was fun. I got a bowl and Chelsea got a tea set. It should be ready by Wednesday or Thursday. When I get a change to get it online, I shall share. Until then, this weekend has been a fun-filled weekend, though tiring.

Weekend Blurb #2

This weekend was probably one of my least productive and blah weekends since I moved back to Tampa. I was originally planned for a day off to Orlando, but that didn’t go through. The reason is simple, I slept longer than I should.

I had my haircut Saturday morning, walked around the mall with my sister, and had lunch after coming home. I was tired and took a nap. I discussed with my sister about going to Orlando for the day or not and I just told her to wake me up in 30 minutes. 3 hours later, I woke up to… well, to music. My sister was on her computer and playing her game and to my amazement, I woke up before the 30 minutes I told her to wake me up. After learning it has been 3 hours instead of 30 minutes, I  decided that a drive to Orlando at that time was not only a waste of gas, but it was also a waste of my time and money. I would have been in Orlando shorter than the time I would drive to Orlando and back. Needless to say, I ended up staying home and played games instead.

Sunday came around and plans were made. I went over to a friend’s house to help out with her homework and we went to lunch at Moe’s. All these while my sister went with a friend of ours to watch G.I. Joe. My friends that I helped out has an Australian Shepherd Mud, a Shiba Inu, a kitty cat, and a flying squirrel (or of the same species). The first day I was there, the Shiba Inu didn’t like me, but today was different. I enjoyed his company. He laid on my lap as I sat crossed-legged on a seat. He’s a cute dog and I wouldn’t mind having a dog like that ^_^ The Australian Shepherd has always loved attention, so that was no different. I love both the dogs very much.

I also bought Mass Effect, Viva Piñata, and Dead or Alive (DoA) 4. I see nothing wrong in waiting for games to be really cheap and buy used games. I always save at least $20 – $30 every time I do that.

The last thing I did today that took the day out was looking for computer parts. It is not easy building my own computer. I looked online for parts and each parts are only compatible with certain kind of other parts.

It really is difficult now since there are so many different technologies out there. Trying to save money while getting the best price, especially on computer parts is not as easy anymore. There are so many different kinds of graphic cards, central processing units (CPU),  motherboards (mobo), tower cases, etc. I project that looking for those items that fit what I want within the budget I’m willing to spend is going to take all week long. Can’t say I’m happy with the time it’ll take, but it will be time worth spending, because it will be my very first desktop that I will invest the time to look for, the money to buy the parts, and the time to build it. It will be my very first desktop that I actually own through looking for the parts, paying for it, and building it. Just an extra note, the desktop’s main purpose is for my games, songs, and videos. Next weekend blurb will be nothing about the computer, I can almost guarantee =D

This weekend was great. First, Chelsea was able to come down to visit me in Tampa. I’ve been going up for the past 3 weekends that her visiting this time makes it that much more relaxing. Next, her helping me clean 1/4 of the house is a whole lot more than I could have asked for. This weekend is definitely the most productive weekend I’ve ever been in years. Cleaned several hours yesterday and several hours today. With that said, my game room is ready to be furnished with furniture and gaming systems. The only down part is that the furniture will not be down until I completely move out from my previous apartment, which will take a while. Sadly, moving all at once also require me to save a little more money to rent a moving-truck and paying for the gas and anything that will come with part of renting that. I’m thinking I should be able to do so by October and completely be down here by November.

Did not go to see any movie in the theater, but saw two movies with Chelsea. One each night she was over: The Number 23 (with Jim Carrey) and Hangman’s Curse. Two movies I would recommend. They’re not scary or suspenseful enough to scare anyone, so they’re light thriller, but very light. Spent some money today and bought Kyo Kara Maoh Season 2 and Family Guy movie: Stewie Kills Lois and Lois Kills Stewie. I also bought an 8Gb memory card for my PSP – finally – and a switcher for my cables connected to my tv. This way, I don’t have to change them out if I want to play my Wii or Xbox. So, I spent a little money this weekend, reminding myself that I should stop with the anime for the month and I shouldn’t spend any for games until my next pay check.

Saving money is important at this point in my life, because I am pretty sure everything will pour out at me all at once that require money and when that happens, I want to be able to still live comfortably and able to say, “I’m glad I saved up those monies.”

Well, that’s it for my first weekend blurb. I hope you readers out there have a good weekend like me.
